Latest and Greatest

Big news from Kamchay Mear. Robert and Nim will be getting married Thursday, March 17th!!!!

This has been a long time coming, primarily because a wedding in Cambodia is no laughing matter. Usually a two or three day event, complete with a parade, and more than 10 wardrobe changes. They used to last longer, but the brides would become sick from exhaustion, and so the ceremony has been condensed. Monks are present throughout to give blessing to the union and the the lovely couples guests.

In addition to this news, I am happy to announce that the ACDC, 18 month English training program is now in session. Currently we have 45 students enrolled and living ongrounds in our new building in Kamchay Mear about a quarter mile up the road from the previos building which is still under a rental agreement and operating much as it did before, serving the community with daily English training sessions as well as a fully operational kitchen.

ACDC-USA is getting closer and closer to gaining non-profit status at which time we will be able to accept tax deductible donations that will go directly to support the program on the ground in Cambodia.

Again, congratulations to Robert and Nim, I am sorry that I will not be able to make it to the wedding, but I expect to be getting plenty of photos to post on the website!

A.C.D.C. USA!

Ok with A.C.D.C. Cambodia up and running, we are moving into the next phase of development. A.C.D.C. USA is designed to be a support based partner organization that will facilitate A.C.D.C. Cambodia through fundraising, program support, and volunteer services.

In order to make this work, I am looking for any advice on Non-profit financial statuses in the USA. We are also looking to partner with international development philanthropic organizations.

If you have any information that could lead to the resolution of these issues, please email me at:  acdcngo@gmail.com. Thanks!
